Unlike all my previous posts, I am writing this one in English, as I am really excited with the huge victory Labour just had in the UK elections. It’s not that, if I were a British voter, I would have had a natural preference for Labour over the conservative party, though I would likely have voted for the winning party in this election. (Ideologically I sit kind of between the two main parties).
The reason why I am really happy is that, after having stumbled with the poor choice they made with Brexit, the UK chose democratic change and the center held. Good thing their leader and now to be Prime Minister, is moderate Sir Keir Starmer, and not radical left Jeremy Corbyn. Maybe that also helped their amazing results.
Now, for the sad news of the evening. The party for which the despicable russophile Nigel Farage ran, at this hour is projected to have won 13 seats, 2% MPs, which though a small number, means they won 13 seats too many.
As for the conservative party’s dive, well, they really had it coming.
So, all in all, congrats!!!
